Permanent Exterior Lighting, Installed With Care
Our work is permanent lighting for the home exterior. We mount a low-profile aluminum channel along the roofline, seat the LED pods inside it and connect everything to a controller you run from your phone. During the day the track blends into your trim, so the house looks the same as it always has. If you already have a system with dark sections or a controller that has stopped responding, we look at repairing it first.

A Local Lighting Company That Fixes First
We are a lighting contractor serving Colonie and the towns around it, focused on one thing: permanent lighting for the outside of your home. That focus lets us pay attention to the parts most people never see, like how the track is fastened, how the wiring is routed and whether the connections will stand up to a wet spring.
Our habit is to repair before we replace. Plenty of homeowners call after hearing that a whole system had to come down, when the trouble was a single pod or a power supply. We would rather earn your trust with a modest fix and be the people you call when you want to add the back of the house.
How We Approach Every Roofline
Lighting that stays on a house year-round has to be planned and finished well. These are the habits we bring to each job.
Repair first, replace when it makes sense
A dark stretch of lights is usually one failed pod, a loose connector or a tired power supply, not a whole system. We find the actual fault and fix that. When parts are no longer made or the track itself is cracked, we explain why replacement is the better spend and let you decide.
Track that disappears into your trim
We match the channel color to your fascia or gutter so it reads as part of the house in daylight. Runs are measured to the inch and cut clean at corners and peaks, so there are no gaps of bare wire or overlapping ends.
Wiring kept low-voltage and tidy
The pods run on low-voltage power from a supply connected at an outdoor outlet. We route leads along existing lines of the house and keep them out of sight, with connections sealed against water.
Mounted with winter in mind
Heavy snow, ice building along the eaves and the swing between thaw and hard freeze all put stress on roofline hardware. We place the track where sliding snow is less likely to catch it and fasten it into solid material, never into soft or damaged wood.
You leave knowing the app
At the end of install day, we set your everyday white, a few holiday scenes and a schedule, then walk you through changing them. You should be comfortable adjusting the lights yourself the same evening.
How a Lighting Job Runs
From the first phone call to the first evening with the lights on, the steps are simple and you know what comes next.
- 1
A phone call
Tell us about the house and the look you want, or what has gone wrong with the lights you have now. We pick a day to visit and measure for your free quote.
- 2
Walk and measure
We walk the roofline, measure each run, check the fascia and find the nearest outdoor outlet. For existing systems we test sections to locate the fault.
- 3
Written quote
You get a clear breakdown of track, pods, controller and labor, or the specific repair. If replacement is the better choice, we tell you why in plain terms.
- 4
Install day
Most installs take a day. We protect landscaping beneath ladders, mount and align the track, seal every connection and clear away offcuts and packaging as we finish.
- 5
Lights on, app set
We test every zone after dark when possible, set your schedules and scenes, and show you how to adjust them.
What Shapes the Price of Your Lighting
Every house is measured, so every quote is specific to it. A few things move the number more than others. Knowing them ahead of time helps you decide how much of the roofline to light.
After measuring, we list each part and the labor on a quote that costs you nothing. You read it and agree before we order a single pod.
- Length of the roofline
- Most of the material cost follows the linear feet of track and the number of pods. Some homeowners light the whole perimeter, others start with the front elevation facing the street.
- Height and access
- A single-story ranch can usually be done from ladders. Two-story colonials, steep pitches or rooflines above decks and slopes take more setup time and sometimes a lift.
- Peaks, gables and corners
- Each change of direction means a cut, a joint and careful alignment. A plain eave line goes faster than a front with several gables and dormers.
- Condition of the fascia
- Track needs a sound surface to fasten to. If we find soft or rotted trim, we show you photos and flag it so nothing gets mounted to weak wood.
- Power location and zones
- An outdoor outlet near where the run starts keeps things simple. Splitting the house into separate zones, such as front and back, adds controllers and wiring.
- Repair or new install
- Fixing an existing system is priced on the parts and time the actual fault needs. That is often far less than starting over, which is why we check it first.

Questions Homeowners Ask Us
Something not covered here? (518) 760-0533
Will I see the track during the day?
Very little of it. The channel is slim and mounted tight under the eave or along the fascia, and we choose a color that matches your trim or gutters. From the street most people do not notice it until the lights come on.
Can I use the lights for more than holidays?
Yes, and most people do. A soft warm white works well as everyday accent and security lighting, and you can switch to colors for holidays, game days or birthdays. Schedules let the lights turn on at dusk without you touching the app.
Part of my existing system went dark. Do I need a new one?
Usually not. A dark section is most often one failed pod, a connector that took on water or a power supply nearing the end of its life. We test the run, find the fault and quote just that part of the work. If parts are discontinued or the track is damaged, we explain why replacing it is the better choice.
How do the lights handle snow and ice?
Each pod is weatherproofed and built to live outdoors, and we screw the channel into sound trim, not soft wood. We set the runs where snow sliding off the roof and ice along the eaves are less likely to snag them. LEDs shine just as brightly on a January night as they do in July.
Is there a warranty on the lights?
Yes. The lighting comes with a 10-year product warranty. We are happy to go over what it covers during your free quote call.
Can I add lights to the back of the house later?
Yes. The system is built in runs, so a back or side elevation can be added later and linked to the same app. During the first visit we note where a future run would start, so the join is clean when you are ready.
Do I need special wiring or a new outlet?
Most homes do not. The system runs on low voltage and plugs into an outdoor outlet through a power supply. If there is no outlet near where the run should start, we point that out during the visit so you can plan for it.
How long does an install take, and do I need to be home?
Most homes are finished in a day. You do not need to be there the whole time, but we like you home at the end so we can set up the app on your phone and show you how it works.
