ServicesConcrete & Paver Care
Concrete and Paver Care in Colonie
We clean the hard surfaces around your home exterior, from concrete walks and front steps to paver patios and stone borders. Each material gets the method and pressure it can handle, and you hear plainly what will come clean and what will not.

What a careful cleaning does for your walks and pavers
Hard surfaces collect what the rest of the house sheds: algae in shaded corners, leaf tannins, rust from patio furniture, tire marks, and the gray film that builds up over a few seasons. We lift that buildup with a rotary cleaning head and controlled rinsing, then treat stubborn growth so it does not return in a few weeks.
We look before we quote. A tired-looking walkway often needs a good cleaning, not new concrete or a full paver reset. When the surface itself has failed, with heaved slabs, crumbling edges or pavers that rock underfoot, we say so and explain why cleaning alone will not change it.
After a winter of road salt and freeze-thaw, concrete often shows white bloom and pitting near the street. We can usually clear the bloom. Pitting is surface damage, and we will be clear about that before any work starts.
What the work includes
Material check before cleaning
We identify whether you have broom-finish concrete, stamped concrete, pavers, bluestone or brick. Each one tolerates heat, pressure and cleaners differently, so this step sets everything that follows.
Even, low-streak cleaning
A rotary cleaning head holds the nozzles at a fixed height, which avoids the striping you see when a wand is swept by hand. Edges and steps are finished separately with care.
Treatment for growth and stains
Algae, moss and organic stains get a gentle treatment that kills growth at the root. Rust and oil spots get their own spot treatment where it is likely to help, and we tell you up front when a stain is set too deep.
Protection for plants and fixtures
We wet down and cover beds near the work, keep rinse water away from foundation openings, and take care around path lights and low-voltage wiring.
Final rinse and walk-through
Joints, siding splash zones and nearby surfaces are rinsed clean. We walk the area with you so you can see the result and ask questions.

Signs your walks and pavers are ready for cleaning
- Green or black film in shade
- North-facing steps and patios under trees grow algae that turns slick when wet. That is a safety issue as much as a looks issue.
- Dark leaf and tannin prints
- Oak and maple leaves left on concrete through fall leave brown outlines that rain will not wash away.
- White chalky bloom
- Efflorescence and salt residue leave a white haze on concrete and pavers. It usually comes off with the right cleaner and rinse.
- Weeds and moss in paver joints
- Growth in the joints pushes sand out and lets pavers shift. Clearing it out early costs far less than resetting the patio later.
- Walks that look older than the house
- If your siding and trim look fine but the walkway looks worn, a cleaning is often the quickest boost to curb appeal you can get.
How a cleaning day runs
- 1
Free quote by phone and a look at the site
You tell us what you want cleaned and what bothers you about it. We look at the surfaces, note the material and any damage, and give you a written quote that lists each area.
- 2
Prep and protection
On the day, we move light furniture and planters, cover nearby beds and check where rinse water will drain. Cars stay off the area until we finish.
- 3
Pre-treat, clean and detail
Growth and stains get treated first and allowed time to work. Then we clean the open field with the rotary head and finish edges, steps and corners by hand.
- 4
Rinse, reset and review
We rinse everything down, put your furniture back and walk through the result with you. Most surfaces are dry enough to use within a few hours.
What moves the price
Pricing comes down to how much area there is and what it takes to clean it properly. We quote each area on its own line so you can choose what to include. You hear the full number before we start.
- Square footage and layout
- A long open walkway goes faster than a patio broken up by steps, walls and planting beds. Tight corners and stairs need more hand work.
- Material and finish
- Stamped or sealed concrete and natural stone need lower pressure and gentler cleaners, which takes more time than plain broom-finish concrete.
- How much growth and staining
- A light gray film is quick. Years of moss, deep tannin stains or rust spots need pre-treatment and dwell time.
- Access and water
- We need a working outdoor spigot and a clear path for equipment. Long hose runs or gated backyards add some time.
Questions about cleaning concrete, pavers and stone
- Will cleaning damage my pavers or stamped concrete?
- Not when the method matches the material. We lower pressure and use the rotary head on softer surfaces so the finish and color are not etched. If a surface is already flaking, we point it out before we touch it.
- Can you get oil and rust stains out completely?
- Sometimes, but not always. Fresh oil and light rust often lift well with spot treatment. Older stains that have soaked deep into concrete usually lighten rather than disappear, and we will tell you which kind you have when we quote.
- My walkway looks bad. Do I need to replace it?
- Often you do not. Most of what makes concrete look old is buildup sitting on top, and a cleaning brings it back. If the slabs are cracked through, heaved or crumbling, cleaning will not fix that, and we will tell you honestly so you can decide what to do next.
- Is the cleaning safe for my lawn and garden beds?
- We wet and cover beds near the work and rinse plants afterward. The treatments we use are diluted and applied only where needed.
- When is the best time of year to have it done?
- Late spring through early fall works best, once overnight freezes are over and surfaces can dry well. Many people book in spring to clear winter salt and grime, then add a fall visit after the leaves come down.
